Position Summary:

The House person will maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Club and guest rooms in accordance with the highest of Club Standards and safety/security procedures. The House person is responsible for deep cleaning assigned areas, restocking housekeeping supplies, striping rooms, assisting room attendants as needed; carrying out tasks in and around guest rooms, checking all equipment in guest rooms to ensure everything is in proper working
order and any other appropriate assigned duties. Must present well and maintain strict personal hygiene practices with a demonstrable commitment to the highest level of service delivery. Operate special equipment such as golf carts, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, misters, steam cleaners and the like. Only Bermudians, Spouses of Bermudians and/or PRC holders need apply.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

  1. Report for duty on time, sign for keys and radio
  2. Obtain golf cart and assignments
  3. Obtain closet check list and linen bags from laundry
  4. Distribute clean linen bags to assigned sections and unpack onto appropriate shelves
  5. Replenish non-linen items in housekeeping closets as needed to stock par
  6. Attend housekeeping meeting at 8:30am promptly
  7. Set-up any guest preferences for bed types single, cots, pack 'n plays etc. and kitchen set-ups
  8. Pickup dirty linens from bins in corridors at least three times a day
  9. Pickup up garbage from closets and outside cottages
  10. Maintain ice storage areas
  11. Restock towels in ladies and men's locker rooms, fitness area, tennis and squash
  12. Bag and count linen in laundry room and note amounts in the logbook
  13. Align all patio furniture on terraces and grass areas, pair like items, remove and report damaged items
  14. Restock water in housekeeping area
  15. Remove garbage in and outside the housekeeping office
  16. Sweep and mop storage areas, closets, office, laundry room, awnings etc.
  17. Maintains guest corridors by sweeping, mopping, dusting, wash: doors, windows frames and ledges, screens, door mats, hurricane shutters, lights and fixtures
  18. Guest room closets wipe shelves, rod, clean light fixture
  19. Guest room windows wash sills, windows, ledges, frames and screens
  20. Guest room ceiling fans, vents, ac units, high beams
  21. Curtain rods, curtains and hooks must slide well
  22. Complete clean on guest room balcony sweep, mop, dust and clean doors, screens, shutters. Lights, railings, walls, umbrellas, umbrella bases, chairs, tables, tables, cushions re-set area
  23. Guest room bathroom ceiling vents, high dust beams, ceiling fans, remove drain stopper and clean, light fixtures, windows, frames, mirror, shower rods, liners, curtains and hooks
  24. Kitchen, laundry, dining room and living room area windows, doors, curtains and rods, high beams, ceiling fans and vents, ac units
  25. Kitchen set-up dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans
  26. Collect glass racks from housekeeping closets, take to kitchen to be washed and return clean glasses in racks to closets
  27. Report any issues to supervisor/manager or maintenance immediately
  28. Buff floors - ability to use industrial machines as needed, ie. power wash, extractors, floor stripping and auto scrubbers
  29. Shampoo carpets as needed
  30. Report any damage, burned-out light bulbs and plumbing problems to the Maintenance or Housekeeping departments
  31. Call in work orders
  32. Assist with inventory control and security
  33. Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when facilities are not in use; check for unlocked doors and windows and turn off lights
  34. Take trash to dumpster
  35. Handle recycling materials
  36. Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an as required basis
  37. Clean walls throughout guest corridors as necessary
  38. Conduct deep-cleaning projects, including power washing
  39. Attend departmental staff meetings and safety meetings
  40. Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Executive Housekeeper or Supervisor


  • Knowledge of how to maintain, clean and preserve a wide variety of building and furniture, fixtures, equipment surfaces and cleaning equipment.
  • Follows instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; use as directed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • Attention to detail cleaning and ability to multi task

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of comparable custodial work preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing pulling, bending, stooping and climbing
  • Use ladders when required
  • Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood or infectious materials
